Read Ezekiel 18 this morning.

God’s definition of a righteous man:

-does not worship idols
-does not defile women
-does not oppress anyone, but returns collateral
-does not commit robbery, but feeds the poor and clothes the naked
-does not lend at excessive interest
-has self-control
-judges fairly

This man lives.

If a wicked man turns from his sin, he will be saved. God is not pleased in the death of the wicked…he wants repentance. Yet…

People look to God and talk about his injustice. They throw words around like “fair”. If God were “fair” then all would live. It is not God who is unjust, but us.

He sets clearly for us the “rules”. He does this so that we may know what sin is. And, He judges us in accordance with our response, our “ways”.

“Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the sovereign LORD. Repent and live!”
