Absolute Randomness Abounds:
The other day I heard the song, “Love and Happiness” from John Mellencamp, I just added the cd to my iTunes library.
One man’s Gnosticism is another man’s Postmodernism. Glad to see we’re still propagations the philosophies of Socrates (or So-crates if you’re a Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure fan) and Epidimes. Any strivings to separate the physical (material) from the spiritual (immaterial) , the sacred and the secular, etc, is as old as the hills. And what’s more, it is straight paganism. The writer of Ecclesiastes was dead on when he said that there is nothing new under the sun.
Hosea 1-the John Mulholland paraphrase
the LORD- “Hey Hosea, go find a woman and marry her. She’s guaranteed to cheat on you and have children from other men. This will be an example of what the people who claim to be mine do when they reject me. The way you will feel when she has kids that belong to other men? That’s how I feel when people sin and reject me.”
Hosea- “I’ll go marry Gomer!”
I find it humorous that Hosea knew exactly who he should marry. Let’s say someone today was told to go find a woman sure to cheat..who would they pick?
Samantha…you get three guesses…and the first 2 don’t count!
