an awesome day at conference. the first session was about mentoring a select few members of the group you lead, bo bowshers, student ministires leader at WC was the speaker. the second session however, was absolutely fantastic. it was an interview witha lady from an organization called The Intelligence Group. They are basically a market research group that consults with various companies after speaking with youth about what they are interested in. It was so great and insightful into the “y” generation. when she questioned the mega-church movement, it was an iinteresting moment as we were at Willow Creek. Without making too much of a value judgement, there was nothing in the biographical material that indicated church background; it was very cool that they had er come and speak to us.
lunch was a box lunch provided by WC. The first breakout attended was entitled “all i ever needed to know about worship i learned from an irish rock star.” this was also a great session. the final session i attended was about involving parents in youth ministry.
phil and i went to a pizza place, then on to a huge mall in schaumburg; it was the same mall the Jake and Elwood Blues drove the “cop car with cop brakes, cop shocks, a 454 cubic inch cop motor” through.
That’s all i got.
